Peloid compress is a treatment by a bag with warm peat, when the bag is placed on a corresponding part of body. There is a slow transformation of heat into the body.

The compress is used in cases of illnesses of locomotive organs, metabolic tract and has pain relieving effect.

Peloids are divided into humolites and mud. Humolites are divided in peats and bogs. For application of peloid in positive (warm) thermotherapy there is no critical difference if we apply peat or bog. Type of peloid is used according to what kind of deposit is available for the corresponding spa resort. However, many spas have to import peloids.
